- 14 oz extra firm tofu drained and pressed
- ½ cup flour
- ½ cup cornmeal
- 3 tablespoons nutritional yeast
- 2 tablespoons chicken stock
- 1 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- ¾ cup milk
- 1½ cup breadcrumbs
Instructions
- Rip or cut the pressed tofu into bite-size pieces.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, nutritional yeast, stock, mustard, garlic, onion, salt, pepper, and milk and mix until combined into a batter. Add more milk if needed to thin it out.
- Place breadcrumbs in a separate bowl.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400˚F for a few minutes.
- Dip tofu pieces into the batter, let the excess drip off, and then into breadcrumbs.
- Spray the cooking trays with cooking spray, place the tofu pieces on top, and spray them with cooking spray. Work in batches if necessary.
- Cook at 400˚F for 10 minutes. When time is up, shake the tray to toss the tofu, place it back in the air fryer oven, and cook at 400˚F for another 5 minutes or until the nuggets are golden brown.
- Repeat with remaining tofu. Enjoy!
