- 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
- 2/3 cup buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups Panko breadcrumbs
- 1 large sweet onion
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons cornmeal
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Peel the onion and cut it into ½” thick rings.
- In a bowl, combine the flour, salt, and cayenne pepper.
- Whisk the eggs and buttermilk in a second bowl. Toss breadcrumbs, oil, and cornmeal in a third bowl.
- Dip each ring into the egg mixture, then into the flour, then back into the eggs, and finish off with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing the crumbs into the rings.
- Spray the Sizzle Tray with cooking spray, place the rings on top and spray with cooking spray. Work in batches if needed. Close the air fryer basket.
- Cook at 350°F for 12-15 minutes or until golden on the outside. Sprinkle with salt to serve.
