  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 2/3 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large sweet onion
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons cornmeal
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  • Peel the onion and cut it into ½” thick rings.
  • In a bowl, combine the flour, salt, and cayenne pepper.
  • Whisk the eggs and buttermilk in a second bowl. Toss breadcrumbs, oil, and cornmeal in a third bowl.
  • Dip each ring into the egg mixture, then into the flour, then back into the eggs, and finish off with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing the crumbs into the rings.
  • Spray the Sizzle Tray with cooking spray, place the rings on top and spray with cooking spray. Work in batches if needed. Close the air fryer basket.
  • Cook at 350°F for 12-15 minutes or until golden on the outside. Sprinkle with salt to serve.
