- 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
- 2/3 cup buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups Panko breadcrumbs
- 1 large sweet onion
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons cornmeal
- Cooking spray
Peel the onion and cut it into ½” thick rings.
In a bowl, combine the flour, salt, and cayenne pepper.
Whisk the eggs and buttermilk in a second bowl. Toss breadcrumbs, oil, and cornmeal in a third bowl.
Dip each ring into the egg mixture, then into the flour, then back into the eggs, and finish off with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing the crumbs into the rings.
Spray the Sizzle Tray with cooking spray, place the rings on top and spray with cooking spray. Work in batches if needed. Close the air fryer basket.
Cook at 350°F for 12-15 minutes or until golden on the outside. Sprinkle with salt to serve.
